Event: Teachers deserve rewards and more at "Maestra" movie, Best Screenplay and Best Actress at Five Continents International Film Festival

Maestra/Teachers deserve rewards and I do agree with Dr.Carl Balita in his efforts to give gratitude to unsung heroes. We met Dr.Carl Balita, Director Lemuel Lorca, Archie Del Mundo and Iah Seraspi, a fisherman's daughter from Romblon who topped the board exam for teachers at Lola Grannie's Restaurant in Malingap St. Quezon City last night.
Winner of Best Actress (Anna Luna) and Best Screenplay (Archie Del Mundo)in Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela, "Maestra" is a movie about three exemplary teachers based on true stories- the story of Iah Seraspi, Gennie Panguelo (played by Angeli Bayani) an Aeta-Ilocana who taught in a school in Pinatubo Valley for more than 25 years and  Espie Bautista (played by no other than Gloria Sevilla) a former high school principal, a college dean and an inspirational speaker refusing to retire teaching at 80 years old.
How the stories were chosen by Dr.Carl Balita was already heartwarming until he shared in detail why teachers need rewards these days. Teaching, according to Dr.Carl Balita should be from the heart and we should enjoin the majority to getting more teachers in service to rekindle their passion in the profession. Joining the cast are Lou Veloso, Bong Cabrera, Lui Manansala, William Martinez, Yayo Aguila, Star Orjaliza, Karl Medina and Paul Salas( playing Anna Luna's love interest. The movie is set for theatrical release on December this year. Indeed, significant movies like Maestra need to be seen not just by teachers but those who wants to appreciate real public service. Congratulations Dr. Carl Balita and Team Maestra for the recognition! For more information please visit https://www.facebook.com/AnEducator2017/
