Event: Lessons from #TFCUtalks in Manila: Takeaways from Aisa Mijeno, Jonathan Joson and Garrett Gee

Reading got more people making a mark in the world. ABS-CBN's The Filipino Channel's TFCUTalks was brought to Manila for the first time last Monday at the Dolphy Theater. Hosted by MYX VJ Ai Dela Cruz and Migs Bustos, representatives from different universities and schools gathered to witness #TFCUtalks Make Your Mark in Manila yesterday learning from the success speeches of Engr.Aisa Mijeno, Jonathan Joson and Scan App Creator Garrett Gee.
Engr.Aisa Mijeno shared her story from deciding to quit her job to travel around finding her life purpose to meeting US President Barrack Obama in APEC Summit in  the country last year with her SALt(Sustainable Alternative Lighting). Digital Marketing giant now in Google Jonathan Joson shared his inspiring presentation of "How To Be Me Po" getting more awe of oohs and aaahs on lessons of his struggles and journey to continued passion in life. Half- Filipino Scan App creator Garrett Gee shared how he self-taught himself to earning millions of dollars creating apps and planning his exit to travel around the world with family after four years.
All three were inspired by learning to value time and how to automate life as indicated in Tim Ferriss' The 4 Hour Workweek and The 4-Hour Body. What I learned most was the fact that nobody will make you happy but yourself and that yearn to serve the country and other people. I was happy I am now in the middle of working for life, passion and purpose and never having to worry if I am making a mark or leaving a legacy to help others because I teach campus jour alism in the public school. It is that acceptance of owning to all the mistakes we all do when we were young and appreciating the value of time which we have to turn things around. After all, it is the most expensive commodity anyone can give. It was an inspiring start of the week with TFCUtalks and I hope they hold more of these next time with more students to listen and learn. Thank you TFCUtalks!
