I had to close my eyes because it was really scary. I joined fellow bloggers watching the midnight screening of Regal Films' official entry to the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival, Haunted Mansion last Saturday at Greenhills Theater. Mother Lily's choice to showcase MarNella/JerNella (Marlo Mortel, Jerome Ponce and Janella Salvador) instead of Shake Rattle and Roll sequel this Christmas was better with stellar supporting cast Lilet, Joem Bascon, Allan Paule, Vangie Labalan, Paolo Contis, Janice De Belen, Dominic Ochoa, LJ Reyes and Iza Calzado.
Teen stars Eliza Pineda, Ingrid Dela Paz and Devon Seron along with Paulo Gumabao, Phytos Ramirez played as barkada. Sharlene San Pedro was Janella's best friend in the movie about teens who went to an old mansion for retreat. The scenes may seem predictable in the beginning until the climax which will connect the dots and answer all your questions while watching. I loved the character of Iza Calzado playing Amara to wreak havoc all throughout the film.
The prosthetics combined with CGIs made the monsters scary and it may haunt you in your dreams if you prefer to watch it alone at home. Better share the screams with the family and truly and faithfully support the Filipino movie industry by watching Haunted Mansion in theaters otherwise a real Amara may haunt you in your dreams. Let's all celebrate the family tradition of watching Filipino films on Christmas watching Haunted Mansion and all the other movies featured in 2015 MMFF.
