1 out of 3 children in the country is malnourished and that's enough reason to get your attention to take action. Knorr Philippines in cooperation with the World Food Programme, Kabisig ng Kalahi and FNRI (Food and Nutrition Research Institute) launched the Knorr Lutong Nanay Nutrition Program last Saturday at Mercato Centrale, BGC to help fund their Feed, Teach and Make It Last training program raising awareness in barangays in different parts of the country to patronize Lutong Nanay fighting malnutrition with one mom-cooked meal at a time. It is indeed the efforts of the mothers in creating nutritious meals in every home that will make a healthy breed of youth we need today.
Hosted by Mercato Centrale's RJ Ledesma, the media launch featured small talks by FNRI and World Food Programme sharing the newest updates on their advocacy to help alleviate hunger in the Philippines. Dr. Mario Capanzana from FNRI also shared proper nutrition from mom-cooked meals help improve the health of each child. The Lutong Nanay Nutrition Program with celebrity ambassadors, Cheska Kramer, Delamar Arias, Danica Pingris, Dimples Romana will scout barangays to set their 3 step-model Feed, Teach and Make It Last. Barangay mothers and community leaders will be invited to be fed of nutritious mom-cooked meals made using Knorr products, teach all moms in the barangays how to prepare them and Make It Last by supporting moms in setting up their own businesses via a livelihood development module.
I've been asking all moms of my students to always prepare home-cooked meals and some of them just need a little more inspiration and recipes to keep going. Lutong Nanay Nutrition Program just answered all the prayers of moms without having to attend cooking classes and pay. With this program, they even have a chance to hoist their own business. I believe in the power of moms and it's the only solution to help solve malnutrition in the Philippines. All you have to do is purchase any Knorr Lutong Nanay dish from participating kiosks in Mercato Centrale BGC and proceeds will go to the Feed, Teach and Make It Last campaign.
