Baritone never felt that good until Ronan's face was onscreen last night. Still hung up on the Boyz last night, yes. As part of Boyzone's 20th Anniversary Asian Tour, the world-renowned Irish boy band Boyzone returned to Manila last night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Manila was the last of the Asian Tour celebrating their 20 years of continued passion in music and Boyz had kept the Pinoy fans screaming til the end. ABS-CBN's Harana Boys composed of Joseph Marco, Bryan Santos, Marlo Mortel and Michael Pangilinan served as front act for the hearthrob Boyzone.
It was the sight of that perfect beautiful face of Ronan onscreen that even the lesbos and straight guys started screaming. After a few songs from their new album, Filipino fans were taken back to the 90s singing the group's popular hits. It was that manly baritone stretching notes from a beautiful face of Ronan Keating that some of the girls just lost it.
He wasn't even opening his mouth that wide yet he managed to belt notes and stretched it still with that handsome Mona Lisa shy smile. It was that face that launched all the women in the house standing and waving. Towards the middle of the Boyz struts and slides onstage, they all paused to commemorate the former member who died in 2009 from a congenital heart disease. The Boyz managed to sing-along the pre-arranged "Everyday I Love You" almost at breaking to tears.
It was too emotional the girls in front of me asked for tissues while some tried to hide their sympathy in silence. My heart felt heavy and I saw Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch in an emotional tone. The tears turned to laughter as fans started screaming again seeing Ronan lead the vocals. They sung all the hits once left Pinoy fans gaga in the 90s and they were still kicking and dancing til the last song "Love Me For A Reason" - the first song that launched the career of Boyzone in 1993. The group announced their comeback and a new album was released featuring Motown covers and other classic hits of the past. Thank you Boyzone and we will always keep a "Picture of You" in our hearts and minds. Til the next Manila visit Boyz! We love you from the Philippines!
