Dining with a pack of picky eaters will leave you so many choices. I've attended the grand opening of Red Panda Greenhills branch located at the Connecticut Parking Arcade, Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan last Friday with media friends. Like its first in Kapitolyo Pasig, Red Panda's interior of greens, herbs and wine selection delightful ambiance implied all dishes are made fresh and enticing. I loved the modern art installations on the wall inviting you to indulge in culinary adventures.
After a romantic gaze at the walls and art decors, I was surprised to meet my favorite handsome chef #EscoffierPhilippines President Philip Golding. He introduced me to the owner Mr. Eugene who thought of this east meets west concept restaurant. "There's something for everyone" and true enough, I was surprised at the book menu. From appetizers to main dishes to dessert and even a bar menu, Red Panda has it all for every occasion.
We were treated to a buffet of Red Panda's special Chinese dishes. I had to get a second helping of those Lo Han Chai, Garlic and Pepper Spareribs and Mayo Wasabi Fish Fillet. While having a fun chat with my fave handsome chef sharing trivia about how Filipinos are clueless of processed sauce, all thise memories of Chinese take-outs in romantic movies started flashing in my head. Filipinos have adopted Chinese cuisine as their own and I couldn't agree more seeing more elders and family dine at Chinese restos every Sunday after church. Red Panda Greenhills gave me that classy feel of romantic yet casual ambience. I could have a date here and celebrate birthdays, special occasions. I can blurt all my "hugot" emotions while sipping some of the great wine selections. But the cake selections and other dessert choices crept back in my memory.
I want to get me some of those Mangosteen cake and that mouth-watering Toblerone Cheesecake. Red Panda will always have something surprising. They want to offer some dishes not yet in the menu and that's something a lazy foodie will enjoy. You can simply say "surprise me" with main ingredients of your choice.
