No Mayweather can define a Manny Pacquiao- Direk Paul Soriano. I was moved and inspired learning what was the story behind Star Cinema's movie Kid Kulafu last night at the Dolphy Theater. Award-winning director Paul Soriano together with the cast Buboy Villar, Alex Medina, Khalil Ramos, Erwin Tagle and the writers shared their stories at the Grand Media Conference of Kid Kulafu paying tribute to the first 16 years of the People's Champ.
Emmanuel Pacquiao was also known as Kid Kulafu referring to the wine most mothers used to drink after giving birth like "shoktong". It was those revelations of Direk Paul digging the roots of the family in GenSan realizing the descendants of folkloric origin making Manny part of the hero tribe in Dadiangas and GenSan.
It will show how Manny had continually developed love for God through the guidance and influence of Mommy Dionisia (played by Alessandra De Rossi) Alex Medina was asked what he learned from his character as the father Rosalio who apparently had Dionisia as 3rd wife. I was fascinated with the folklore of his pen name Kid Kulafu where the wine was referred to as a hero who grew up in the mountains. Rosalio was constantly elusive and his stories only came from Mommy D. Knowing direk Paul from his movies, Kid Kulafu would be one inspirational confirmation that a true Filipino will fight for the country and we will definitely watch Kid Kulafu because we love our country and we will show Manny that no Mayweather can define a boxer who brought too many division titles. Don't miss it on April 15 at all cinemas nationwide. This is one movie ABS-CBN did to help support our one and only Manny Pacquiao!
