The Filipino will always win #PusoToTheMax. Even if it was heartbreaking watching Gilas Pilipinas defeated by Puerto Rico at the 2014 FIBA World Cup last week, the Filipino basketball team did not fail to win the hearts of all basketball fanatics all over the world. I came from a long day at Taguig last week but I did not pass the chance to witness the historical game of Gilas Pilipinas against Puerto Rico at Max's Restaurant Scout Tuazon branch in Quezon City. Together with fellow bloggers, it was an unforgettable experience indulging in truly Pinoy desserts and treats at Max's.
I was seated beside a very good friend/blogger Melo Villareal of Lakbay Pilipinas and Stonibert Lim sampling delicious Filipino snacks and treats. My choice was Max's very delectable Sweet Potato Fries with Sago't Gulaman while Melo had Lumpiang Sariwa and Dessert Sampler (buko pandan, leche flan and ube mousse). Stonibert Lim had Halo-Halo before our Max's Chicken Meal which consisted of a whole fried chicken, chopsuey and rice.
We were all shouting and waving our mini-Filipino flags and #LabanPilipnas sash while munching all those treats until the 4th quarter became a nightmare for all of us. Towards the end, all media participants were still clapping at the performance of the Gilas Pilipinas basketball players losing the last chance to snag a spot in 2014 FIBA World Cup. I loved how the Mighty Mouse team captain Jimmy Alapag faced the crowd with pride and that heartwarming fistbump close in the end. Let us continue the #PusoToTheMax style of play against all contenders in all types of sports with Max's! The Filipino will win! We all need to believe every single time.
