New Year #2014 sets new hopes for all and what better way to change your outlook but to change your look. My friends have been praying that I have my hair rebonded or straightened since they have grown disgust over my frizzy limp hair for a long time now. Ystilo Salon offered their Holiday Promo last December and I thought I'd give it a try aside from nail services I used to get from their SM Fairview branch. For Php2500 you'd get hair rebonding with hair treatment or get a foot spa and pedicure (as shown in their posters).
Ystilo Salon SM Fairview branch was newly-renovated with new chairs, walls covered with beautiful photos of Vina Morales, Shaina Magdayao and other models from last year's winners of #GetYstylized contest. Aside from the clean space and the new equipments that motivated more patrons to frequent this branch is the constant ambience of staff being perky, friendly and accommodating to all customers. My guess was that special training of the staff keeping that friendly attitude towards all types of customers they encounter each day at the mall. They were not the other types of salon where staff would chat and gossip about everything while they give the service to you. Mr. Norman along with the girls who helped washed, blow dried and combed my hair was consistent on asking if there'd be anything I'd need the whole time I was in the salon. One of the ladies asked if I wanted tea, coffee or any drink I prefer and since my parched mouth was dry, I've opted for coffee while Mr. Norman was on the second time putting treatment on my hair.
The magazines on the rack were relatively new which gave me the reading materials I need to wait for my hair rebonding service to be finished. Alas, a few checks on the pages and my hair was all set. Mr. Norman was careful with the thin strands of my hair and he explained how I should do to help take care of my hair after the service. Compared to other hairstylists I've met, Mr. Norman and the other ladies were smiling constantly recognizing me from my last visit and careful if my clothes will get stains from the washing. I've expected pains in my scalp and foul odour of the chemicals from the hair treatment but to my surprise - none. I was able to enjoy the aroma of the coffee, my clothes were kept dry, the staff was careful not to be nosy with my business and the service lasted for only four hours. Towards the end, they were all smiling at me and taught me how to help my thin strands get healthier. They were quiet but they were all smiling and the genuine joy in their faces showed me how Ms. Vina Morales had been a great boss. Ystilo Salon deserves an award for human resources management excellence aside from their hairstyling expertise. As they all say, women frequent salon for a change of ambiance, attitude and mood aside from the beauty services it provides. I'm now all set to face this Monday's workload at school thanks to Ystilo Salon. Be #Ystylized and visit www.ystilosalon.com.ph.
