Event: @StarCinema's #Pagpag Grand Presscon celebrates Filipino culture on supersitions #MMFF2013

Every Filipino has a story to tell about superstitions. I remembered my family's superstitions when my father died in 1995 attending the grand press conference of Regal Films and Star Cinema's 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival horror entry "Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay" with Direk Enrico Santos, Direk Frasco Mortiz with Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Miles Ocampo, Paulo Avelino, Shaina Magdayao, Janus Del Prado, Dominic Roque, Clarence Delgado, CJ Navato and Michelle Vito. As the movie title suggests, it's the Filipino superstition on funerals which according to Direk Enrico Santos was just one among the many superstitions we have all followed set by elders. Kathryn Bernardo playing Thalia Dela Torre will officiate the funeral to be attended by friends which will not follow each of the superstitions warned by Matet De Leon
Just like Final Destination movie, each character will die although the cast wanted to be discreet about this fact. Kathryn shared to the press her personal horrific experience not following that superstition having her blower turn on by itself the night they head home after the final scenes of the film. Daniel also shared how he saw an image of a man appear in the photo on the wall of their house. I did not experience any scary experience attending funerals because I've always followed the advice of the elders when my father died. I only remembered I was warned never to look back at our house when my father's corpse was being brought to his final resting place. Although the others may show scepticism about the plot, I'm very sure that the movie-goers will flock the cinemas watching Pagpag starting December 25.

Why? It'll be a sure blockbuster not only because of Kathniel but because Pinoys would opt to watch horror stories showing superstitions because it reminds us of our rich Filipino culture and how each superstitions actually deprive us of our painful truths. Celebrate Christmas watching and relating our own beliefs about funeral superstitions with Pagpag showing on December 25 at all cinemas nationwide.
