Most Filipino boys do not know rugby. This is the reason why we should hail the Philippine Volcanoes now promoted by Fila Philippines as FILA-pinas Volcanoes set to join the Rugby World Cup this month. It was a rare opportunity meeting the Philippine Volcanoes or the Philippine National Rugby Union Team. Since 1999 composing of expatriates and some celebrity sportsmen like Andrew Wolff, the Philippine Volcanoes continued to promote the said sports to different areas of the country. I was lucky to have interviewed 2012 Mr. World 2nd placer Andrew Wolff with selected media at the FILA store at SM Megamall last Sunday.
He was impeccably handsome (in looks and in attitude) which I did not expect of a famous personality in sports and as Mr. World 2012 2nd place. He shared to us how rugby is so different from American football and soccer which is a more popular ball game all over the world. Andrew Wolff is one tough nut sure to get Philippines known all over the world not just in rugby and Mr. World as he continues to show passion in business and marketing. He's currently in events and promotions business and who knows what he will surprise us next?
I was surprised that no one among all the members of the Philippine Volcanoes squad ever complained about me haggling a photo with each of them considering the number of fans who flocked the store that day. All of them were all friendly and they were all kind enough to share their passion to teach rugby to fellow Filipino kids soon. They'd be a force to reckon with battling against Kenya this month at the Rugby World Cup and Fila Philippines showed full support at all their endeavors before and after the games. Like what Matt Saunders and Andrew Wolff had said, FILA Philippines believes in the Volcanoes team and we should support them. You can have grab a shirt, a backpack or a shoe especially designed to support our country's team FILA-pinas Volcanoes.
