Event: GMA's Basang Sisiw Bloggers Conference with Bianca Umali, Renz Valerio and Maxene Magalona

Rainy days and Thursdays won't get me down. It was a rare opportunity interviewing some of the cast of GMA Artists Center's talents Bianca Umali and Renz Valerio last Thursday at Papa John's Pizza Restaurant at Tomas Morato, Quezon City. I missed Maxene Magalona who was in a rush to her taping that day and spent a few minutes with the bloggers. Inspired by Agustin Dela Cruz's classic Filipino film topbilled by Lani Mercado, Raymond Bagatsing, Gardo Versoza, Maxene Magalona, Mike Tan and featuring Renz Valerio, Bianca Umali, Kimberly Faye, Hershey Garcia and Miko Zarsadias, Mga Basang Sisiw is a series of the story of the five siblings, Justin, Faye, Shine, Cha and Mickey in their journey to rebuild their once happy family.
Renz Michael Valerio and Bianca Umali shared to us their learnings from the veteran actors during the set since the first taping days of Mga Basang Sisiw. When asked how they are able to gather emotions at sob scenes, they attribute the contribution and help of Maxene Magalona (Vicky) who always motivate them to collect those painful emotions to perfect a take. Renz Valerio and Bianca Umali we have already grown fondness at their first TV ads since they were babies expressed their excitement at Mga Basang Sisiw. With amiable attitude and exemplary skills articulating their opinions and thoughts about the story of Mga Basang Sisiw, the two may seem neophyte at the growing pains of being in showbiz but brave enough to face the challenges with their mommies behind the camera backing them up at every difficult task.
Bianca hopes to continue studying enrolled in home school and Renz who is studying Grade 7 in a regular high school will be the icons of the teens who need motivation to study and work at the same time. My students adore these two playing Justin and Faye and hopes to watch more of their scenes at Mga Basang Sisiw directed by the one and only Ricky Davao shown daily at GMA 7 after Eat Bulaga.
