He has defined himself a genre of Philippine music one can only attribute as himself, Bamboo Mañalac. From being the lead vocalist of Rivermaya band to now being a soloist with such a distinct class, Bamboo released his repackaged album, No Water No Moon by Polyeast Records last April 24 at Cerchio Restaurant, Quezon City. Now with the brand new single, "Carousel", Bamboo shared to all the entertainment press his metamorphosis as a talented and respected Filipino artist. The album, No Water No Moon, is Bamboo's first from Polyeast Records Philippines originally released in 2011 and grabbed Gold in February 2013 with hits "Questions", "Spin", "Ikot ng Mundo", and "In This Life". It also made him win Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist Award in the 25th Awit Awards for the song, "Questions".
With the top musicians in the music industry, Ria Osorio, Kakoy Legaspi, JunJun Regalado, Bong Gonzales and Simon Tan, Bamboo is now a regular performer of ABS-CBN's ASAP18 and one of the prestigious judges/mentor of The Voice Philippines soon on ABS-CBN. He had also been one of the icon endorsers of Globe Telecom promoting as the ambassador of Tattoo Home early this year.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to ask him questions. When asked how he viewed himself today compared to when he started, he explained how his being a soloist gave him more freedom to share what the majority of Filipino fans frequently asked. It was difficult to be the goofy me not laughing at moments he spilled the beans how he was a snob before. Bamboo made me love him more after hearing his responses to my questions. Mysterious no more as I was able to unfold that character I truly admire in men, articulate, unique and truly amiable. The new repackaged No Water No Moon will be out in stores starting May 1, 2013. Bamboo will be promoting No Water No Moon - Repackaged album soon in different areas so please be updated by visiting www.polyeastrecords.com and their official FB Page www.facebook.com/Polyeastrecords and follow @PolyeastRecord on Twitter.
