Get your teens to Think Drink and Move this summer. We all need to get our kids to active and healthy lifestyle and for mommies worrying what to suggest to their kids, here's Coca-Cola Philippines' 2nd Youngstars Program. Present during the presscon were Atty. Adel Tamano, Vice-President for Public Affairs and Communications for Coca-Cola Philippines, Mr. Ricky Santos, Operations Director of the Philippine Basketball Association, Atty. Angelico Salud, PBA Commissioner and Ms. Angie Miles Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Coca-Cola Philippines.
An estimate of more than 7000 aspiring basketball stars aged 13-16 across different cities, provinces and municipalities in the country will experience Coca-Cola PBAYoungstars Program's Think Drink and Move activities. Through Coca-Cola programs like basketball clinics, teens will Think of strategies and learn nutrition to better achieve active healthy living. With Drink, they'd be considering beverage choices and hydrate properly since Coca-Cola has a wide variety of products depending on their taste as well as the calorie needed. We were taught as Ms. Angie Miles emphasized that the calories we intake should be the same amount of calories we should burn to achieve active healthy lifestyle. To Move means to engage in physical activity like basketball to achieve energy balance.
Coca-Cola PBA Youngstars is one of the many initiatives of Coca-Cola to promote Healthy Active Living and globally, it supports over 280 physical activity and nutrition programs in more than 115 countries.
Starting April 2-14, provincial tryouts for the Coca-Cola PBA Youngstars Basketball League covering Cagayan De Oro, Laoag, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Cavite, Laguna, Bacolod, Pangasinan, Davao, Cebu, Pampanga and Batangas. Metro Manila may also participate in the tryouts from April 1- April 13 starting at Valenzuela, Marikina Caloocan, San Juan, Manila, Taguig, Rizal, Navotas, Muntinlupa, Cainta, Pasig and Las Piñas. What's more exciting is the famous PBA coach Ronnie Magsanoc will guide our teens to the tryouts and clinics. I totally agree with Atty. Adel Tamano that we should all get our kids and teens out of the computer this summer. Otherwise we'd all be surprised that they'd contract hypertension and diabetes at an early age.
