Event: #ABS-CBNFoundation Bantay Kalikasan partners with #2GoTravel, opens Caticlan-Odiongan-Batangas Route
It's Summer Vacation! Make your getaway an ecotourism adventure now that ABS-CBN Foundation Bantay Kalikasan signed an agreement with 2GoTravel. My passion to travel every year led me to follow the crusade saving the most beautiful spots in the country. It was a heartwarming experience witnessing ABS-CBN Foundation Ms. Gina Lopez signing a memorandum of agreement with Mr. Stephen Tagud, VP for Business and Commercial Affairs of 2GoTravel supported by Rep. Budoy Madrona of Romblon with other local officials on the newest route of ecotourism project led by Bantay Kalikasan last Monday at 9501 Restaurant, ABS-CBN.
I have personally experienced how Ms. Gina Lopez changed the lives of the people in Palawan visiting Ugong Rock in Puerto Princesa, Palawan and the other ecotourism sites Bantay Kalikasan had pioneered through the years. The quest to help alleviate poverty in some areas of Sibuyan and other provinces motivated more volunteers to support this mission. Ms. Gina Lopez was so excited about the project bridging gaps of islands in Romblon kept hidden because of no accessibility. Starting March 10, the route of Caticlan-Odiongan-Batangas will open and will create opportunities for townfolks to have more means of livelihood.
Who wouldn't be excited? 2GoTravel does not only offer cheap boat routes to Boracay and Palawan these days, they'd also open routes now at Caticlan-Odiongan-Batangas making Romblon a more progressive province to erase the stigma of mining and poverty. Sibuyan Island and Tablas Island in Romblon will have the same Green Fund Projects spearheaded by Bantay Kalikasan established in Palawan, Sorsogon. It would definitely a new haven for sports enthusiast and adventure seekers. We were told they'd soon have spelunking activities, ziplines and other eco-adventure activities tourists will enjoy initiated by the Bantay Kalikasan Eco-Academy Magandang Pilipinas Tourism Project. Summer is the best time to teach our children about nature appreciation. That, instead of simply visiting beaches and leaving our wastes in the beach, we'd learn to teach our children to protect these beautiful sites by supporting Bantay Kalikasan Eco-Tourism Projects. Take a sidetrip ecotourism adventure in your getaway itinerary. You owe it to give back to the nature that spoiled us all in the Philippines. You owe it to your grandchildren to learn that we should all be involved in saving the country.
