If the celebration of the Philippine Independence Day today seemed superficial to some, it is time to stop the kiyeme and support our very own Philippine movies. No kiyeme, I was again at awe at Eugene Domingo after the Bloggers Meet for Star Cinema and Spring Films' Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme yesterday at ABS-CBN. It took three years for Direk Bb. Joyce Bernal and Chris Martinez because of schedules and the challenge to make a sequel out of a hit movie, "Kimmy Dora".
The Asia's Best Actress Eugene Domingo makes no kiyeme creating films that make every Filipino proud with her outstanding performances. Although she's busy with so many movies, a theater play with Bona and other acting projects, Uge never seems to tire from surprising the public with her antics and skills in comedy. Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme is the sequel that's a prequel to the Kimmy Dora movie which raised the bar of comedy higher with original spiels. Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme features both Kimmy and Dora together tracing their roots in Korea as part of the Godonghae family with twists in the story that will set the movie-goers to laugh at each scene and marvel at the production design.
Direk Joyce Bernal and Chris Martinez explained how difficult it was to create another Kimmy Dora after its successful box office hit three years ago in the box office. Horror had to be the next step to creating a different comedy to entertain the discerning Filipino movie-goers this year. With extensive support from the big names in the fashion industry, Kimmy Dora's outfits in this movie was the creation of fashion icons, Rhett Eala, Rajo Laurel, Jan Garcia, Joey Samson, Kaye Morales, Tatah Galias, Marlon Rivera, Maxie Cinco, Ferdie Abuel, Jerome Salaya Ang, Cay Cuasay and Oz Go. I loved that Alodia Gosiengfiao is in the movie in a character that'll truly surprise us all and I was fascinated at how the cast was able to shoot some scenes in Korea with snow. What's to watch out is how each character will be unveiled to add to the list of the Godonghae family we have all grown to love.
When asked who she best relates to, Eugene Domingo preferred to be Dora as there are so many Kimmys in the country giving stress every day of every one in our lives. I also prefer to be the innocent Dora who simply loves food and contents with simply food compared to the aggressive Kimmy who Uge refers to as our bosses. Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme also stars Ariel Ureta (as Luisito Go dong Hae), Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo, Miriam Quiambao, Ryan Bang, Kiray Celis, Moi Morcampo (Moi Bien) and Alodia Gosiengfiao. Produced by our favorite actor Piolo Pascual, Bb. Joyce Bernal, Erickson Raymundo and Suzanne Shayne Sarte, Star Cinema and Spring Films' Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme is a movie I will definitely recommend to all who love a real good horror comedy entertainment.
This is a movie sure to inspire us all on how to deal with all the Kimmys in our own world and it will definitely give ideas to those who love cosplaying different costumes to play in different roles. I am thankful to Asia's Best Actress Eugene Domingo, Direk Joyce Bernal and Chris Martinez for the inspiration to outwit and outplay all my struggles in the workplace through this movie, Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme. Eugene Domingo sets the best example on how acting can bring inspiration to all, no kiyeme. Are you a Dora or a Kimmy? Watch Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme tomorrow showing at all cinemas nationwide. It's definitely the best way to show you truly love your country, no kiyeme.
