I kept wallowing in regret buying a laptop two weeks before the media launch of the latest ASUS Notebooks at Opus Lounge Resorts World Manila. The event dubbed, "ASUS Sense Experience" last Monday delivered the new innovations Beauty, Sound, Touch and Cloud Service - all part of the core element of ASUS design thinking DNA to make people happy. Though I'm not that too techie, I joined in the crowd of tech bloggers witnessing the series of ASUS latest notebooks and netbooks awaiting the techie's comparison with that of the popular Mac Books available in the market.
Equipped with enlarged touchpad providing more smoother multi-gesture in scrolling, swiping, rotating, zooming in and out, it really seemed mouse-less friendly during the demo at the event with all fingers recognized by the touchpad. More gesture functions are available really similar to those of the Mac Book Air notebooks.
Another happy feature they've shown was ASUS's Instant On, Instant Connect which I believe is best opening your notebook in just 2 seconds and up to 2 weeks standby time. ASUS will provide Instant Connect Link (IC link) which is a solution that includes an app and a cable to share the internet from your smartphone instantly. Watching the demo, I was at awe at how ASUS notebooks instantly turns on and connects to the internet.
ASUS also has a cloud service to provide the most convenient cloud service with MyBitCast App, sync-ing notes, photos and audio recording data to various devices at once. Finally, the Zenbook™ Prime with IPS panel with 1080p FHD resolution with SuperBatt technology extending the overall lifespan by three times than the regular batteries. It's so thin and light. What's most interesting for me and all people who love to open their laptops at night is ASUS ZENBOOK™Prime's backlit keyboard allowing you to see the keys at dark. I love that feature especially at moments that I'm trapped in a dark presentation room or event areas. I guess all the elders would still want to get it even at estimated price of P69,995.
If ASUS Zenbook Prime™UX31A seemed worth the price with Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor, 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD and a 13.3" IPS LCD with resolution of 1080p (info ganked from Yugatech/Abe Olandres), ASUS ' ROG G75VW and G55VW gaming notebooks are not far behind with Intel 3rd generation Core i7 processors, latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M/670M GPUs with up to 3GB of GDDR5 VRAM, up to 16 GB of DDR3 DRAM supporting dual hard drives in RAID 0/1. It's also equipped with dual-fan intelligent themal mechanism to ensure the system running cooler and longer for gamers. Active shutter glasses with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology on a Full HD screen, a built-in subwoofer and ASUS SonicMaster Lite audio will make the gamers drool. Some of the variants in the series will have Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor, 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD and 13.3" IPS LCD with resolution of 1080p making you not far behind the game.
ASUS is one of the most trusted brands in notebooks in the Philippines and it is still the world's top 3 no wonder with more than 3,886 awards in 2011 and delivering the world's best-selling and most award winning motherboards. With its latest and innovative X, K, N, G Series notebooks and the ZENBOOK™Prime, those issues of consumers on notebooks are all addressed leaving everyone happy. I'm already saving for the ASUS ZENBOOK™ Prime or the G-series with longer battery life and backlit keyboard.
