Event: Zia Quizon's Bloggers Night

Zia Quizon also made me cry. Meeting Zia Quizon (Zsa Zsa and Dolphy's daughter) last Tuesday at  reminded me of my own son and how I truly admire her parents for raising her to have such impeccable character, wit and unique talent. My son had been playing "Ako Na Lang Sana" for quite sometime now and he was disappointed for not being with me during the Bloggers Night held at Club Phi Restobar in Metrowalk Ortigas last Tuesday.
While waiting for the others to arrive, I had a rare interview opportunity with Zia and she was so friendly and accommodating. She was in disbelief when I mentioned that Lea Salonga actually mentioned her as one of the most promising singers in the country today. She had cough and sore throat that night but she was able to perform all her songs including her dad's movie OST -"My Heart Belongs To Daddy" which made mom Zsa Zsa cry. I was at awe the whole time she sung every song and felt like a die-hard fan once again. Zia Quizon is not just adorable on TV and MTV, she's really adorable and truly awesome even at moments you least expect.
While many of the bloggers thought she sounded like Nora Ephron, she blurted how she was also surprised that her sound was regarded "black" by friends. It was an amazing experience listening to one outstanding singer who'd soon swoon the country with her unique sound. There is no way you'd forget Zia Quizon with her tunes.
I will forever be grateful to Polyeast Records and friends who gave me the opportunity to meet the soon-to be icon of the Philippine music industry.
I really love her album especially "So Much In Love" which used to be Sharon Cuneta's song when I was young. Other songs in the album include her top-chart best-selling "Ako na Lang Sana", "Mambobola", "Dear Lonely", "Smile" and "Simple Girl". Zia was recently hailed as MYX Music Awards 2012's nominee for Favorite Female Artist, Favorite New Artist and Favorite Song. You can still vote for her at myxph.com, MYX Philippines official fan page on Facebook, or mma.myxph.com on Twitter.
Zia Quizon's self-titled album is available now at all record stores nationwide. You can also download Zia's songs on www.MyMusicStoe.com.ph.
