Event: Simply Thai's Grand Launching Party

Of glitz, glamour and gastronomic delights. I've been fortunate to attend the grand launching of Simply Thai Greenbelt 5 and marveled at the socialites and special guests last July 6, 2011. Carmi Martin, Gloria Diaz, Sen. Bong Revilla and other celebrities were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremonies to formally open Simply Thai to the public.
Owned by the same group of successful Thai at Silk in Serendra, Executive Chef Cecille Chang-Ysmael showed her passion and love for Thai dishes concocting unique and original recipes for Simply Thai
She travels to Bangkok to personally ensure she gets the authentic Thai ingredients to bring the best of Thai to Filipino diners and weary travelers. Among those original recipes which my son and I are really sold to is the Sukkumvit Fried Chicken (P360/3pcs). She tells the story of how the name of the dish was associated to leaving you completely entertained and enjoying fried chicken like never before.
I've always trusted my son whose favorite dish of all time is fried chicken and asked how he compared it to home-cooked and commercially made fried chicken. He said that the meat may be similar to those sold in fastfood and cooked at home but it's the flavor of the crispy breading that set the difference. Sukkumvit Fried Chicken was the most delicious fried chicken he ever tasted in his life.
What I will always go back for is their freshly-brewed Chai Milk Tea (P95) maybe because of the perfect sweetness and flavors that reminds me of coffee and chocolate as one. It's one of the best milk teas I've ever tasted.
We were also invited to try creative cocktails and other drinks like Cointreau's  Cointreaupolitan - a pink and sexy cocktail of Cointreau, lemon and cranberry juice and Cointreau Daiquiri - rum and Cointreau served with lemon wedges and ice.
I also enjoyed this sweet and creamy Pandan-flavored Tapioca Pearls with Fresh Coconut Cream and Strips while gazing at the celebrities enjoying their cocktails.
Simply Thai's grand launching party was sponsored by Grey Goose Vodka, Hardy's, Monkey Bay, Piper Hiedsieck, Cointreau, Greenbelt and Ayala Center
