A lot of good laughs and great thoughts to reflect about friendship. Are you willing to let love slip away for your best friend's happiness? I've just attended the premiere of Warner Bros.Pictures, "Something Borrowed" sponsored by SM Cinema, 97.9 Home Radio, Belo Medical Clinic and Caltrate at SM Megamall Cinema last night. The movie stars Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Colin Egglesfield, John Krasinski, Steve Howey, Ashley Williams and others. The story is about friendships tested and secrets coming to surface when a terminally single Rachel falls for her bestfriend's fiance, Dex(Colin Egglesfield). I have watched other movies similar to this (My Best Friend's Wedding, etc) but it was surprising that it made me reflect on my own experiences with my girlfriends in college.
I really used to have a friend who'd boss around asking me to always fold and yield to her wants. It eventually led my path to ways I never imagined. It took time for me to realize that I have to learn to speak my thoughts or I'd miss saying my real feelings for the rest of my life. Like Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin), I have always yielded for the benefit of my best friend not knowing I'd be sacrificing my own happiness. I loved my friend too but I'd have to start loving myself first. This is what I've learned in my past and what I've reflected after watching "Something Borrowed". The romantic comedy would really be mushy at times but more hilarious at some scenes where the characters of Ethan (John Krasinski) and Claire (Ashley Williams) come in, I laughed out loud while hearing most women shouting their sighs at the most exciting scenes. It was one of the most entertaining romantic comedy films I've watched and I'd really recommend you watch it with your girlfriends.
