My 40th Birthday: Going to El Nido Palawan on a budget - Day 2

Day 2 - April 12, 2011. We woke up at 4:30am to ride the 5:00am Eulen Joy Bus (300/per person) to El Nido. The bus took 6 hours to arrive with two occasional meal and comfort room stops but it actually improved since I last came there in 2007. All the roads were paved and concrete and compared to the former trip, we didn't have to stop for broken tires and exploding engines. Some foreigners went by van/shuttle which has air-con at twice the price of the bus for safety but we preferred mingling with the locals (like being seated with live chicken and animals, etc).
We arrived in El Nido at 12:15pm and tried to get an accommodation to the last resort we've been at Marina Beach Resort. Upon arriving, we were told that the reservations I've made was not forwarded to the resort so we were referred to the next, Og's Beach Pension House. They've worried that the fan room (P800 with free breakfast) was at the third floor because of my condition but we've agreed to stay since the rooms looked really comfortable.
It was almost the end of Day 2 until we found this very nice fruit stand at the back of Og's Beach Pension which sells fruit shakes at P25 (real fruit with milk and really no sugar). We had dinner at the Lutong Bahay Carinderia at the back of the resort for P50/meal. It was a lovely day at El Nido Palawan and I can't wait to go on boat tours the following day.
For more information, Og's Beach Pension House is located at Brgy. Masagana, El Nido Palawan, for reservations, please call 09167070393.
