Never go out of style this summer!
I've just attended Style Origin, bringing together fashion and music in one event, Ayala Mall's dedication to bring unique lifestyle experiences and personalized style this summer season at Trinoma Mall last April 8 and 9, 2011.
After the successful launch of Fashion Beats at Greenbelt, Ayala Malls brought it to Trinoma Activity Center last April 7-9, 2011 directed by Jackie Aquino and Robby Carmona. I've witnessed the Lifestyle Collection with special performances from Nyko Maca and rock band, Pupil take the centerstage with the latest designs from 7 For All Mankind, Accessorize, Calvin Klein, Charriol, Chocolate Clothing, Details, Dorothy Perkins, Esprit, Folded and Hung, Kenneth Cole, Maldita, Mango, Marks and Spencer, Missy, Plain and Prints, Promod, R.A.F., Springfield, Topshop, Topman, X and Zara. Retro never leaves the fashion trend with styles that I remember once worn in the 80's like those high-waist shorts with buttons and harem pants. It's quite nostalgic watching all those designs in the 80s being worn by these models.
April 9, 2011 featured the Filipino pride with Bench and Co. Spring/Summer collection again directed by Robby Carmona. Young celebrity designer Isabelle Daza dazzled with her designs for Human in different colors. Carl Guevarra for Pinoy Lab and Bench, Sarah Lahbati, Roco Nacino and Steven Silva for Bench.
The designs reminded me of the "Jejemon" with hats in rainbow colors, jackets with blings and colorful rubber shoes. What's most interesting are the truly pinoy culture accessories like those "jackstone" rubber bands, rubber band necklaces used as "chinese garter" and those sling shot rubber necklace common played by Filipino children. The trip to childhood coupled by interesting colors and "jejemon" fashion had become haute couture. I guess anything created by Bench, HerBench, Human, Pinoy Lab, Kashieca, Aldo, Aldo Accessories, CPS Chaps, Celio, Charles and Keith, FOX, La Senza and Pedro will always be a hit because they surely know what most of us like to wear - comfortable and stylish. I also enjoyed the performances by Up Dharma Down during the event.
Spotted in this event was the mother of Isabelle Daza, Gloria Diaz who's continually radiant and vibrant with celebrity friends, Raymond Gutierrez and other fashion icon giants who supported this magnanimous event celebrating Pinoy pride.
The Filipino is still the trend-setter in fashion and music.
