Hair loss is one serious problem often the cause of humiliation among many Filipino men and women these days. I've just attended the Novuhair launch of their Herbal Shampoo and Topical Scalp Lotion with fellow bloggers yesterday at Romulo's Cafe in Quezon City.
I've seen the ad on buses in the streets of Metro Manila but I didn't realize they use such all-natural ingredients common to Filipinos like virgin coconut oil, panax ginseng, centella asiatica, zingiber officinale (luyang dilaw/yellow ginger), aloe barbendensis and biotin, peppermint, lemongrass, rosemary and lavender oils. According to Dr. Rica Mallari, Novuhair accelerates blood circulation in the scalp which helps promote hair growth. The clinical trial conducted last year showed a 100% success rate among volunteers who experienced no progression of hair loss and decrease in hair shredding. More importantly, no side effects were experienced by the subjects. I've heard of the ingredients used from my late grandmother who'd always use raw ingredients and boil them to help cleanse and condition my hair when I was younger. Now that all these ingredients are produced in one product in Novuhair, I'm confident to recommend it to all my relatives and friends who need a boost of confidence.
I certainly agreed to Dr. Mallari who mentioned that cosmetic remedies, chemically formulated solutions and surgical procedures that claim to address drastic hair problems can be quite expensive and unsafe since some of my co-teachers had spent so much money trying to grow hair to gain more confidence in front of students. Students and peers call him "bokal", "kalbo", "panot" and I've met someone who'd tease his co-teacher "bokalist" and that may be so frustrating and hurting to the person concerned.
The event started with the introduction of Escondido Boracay Resort and their newest restaurant getting rave reviews from the online media, the Boracay Crab House situated also in the resort. Director of Sales and Marketing, Ms. Shiela Mae Vellila discussed how Escondido Beach Resort Boracay was built eight years ago. Situated in the best sugar fine white sand of the island in Station 1, Escondido is just a minute walk to the beach and the hottest bars and restaurant in the area. It proudly exhibits Filipino heritage using all decorations and furniture from different regions in the country. Each room actually represents a particular region in the Philippines. They have all the amenities of comfort and relaxation with air-condition, cable television, mini bar, in-room safe, electric thermos, telephone/intercom systems, hot and cold showers and wifi internet for guests. Their Boracay Crab House offers guest of best crabs, prawns and other seafood dishes available also in room service. I can't wait to get back to Boracay trying this new restaurant they've just introduced early this year.
While listening to the product introduction, we were treated with drinks like this Cucumber, Peppermint and Lemon juice only from Romulo's Cafe.
After a delicious lunch especially made for Novuhair by Romulo Cafe was the discussion on World of Wellness by Ms. Cory Quirino and the marketing manager.
I've seen her on tv and have heard of how she teaches women to use raw materials for beauty and wellness. World of Wellness is actually a direct selling business where recruiting even without buying the products will reap you compensation and position. The intention was to provide income earning opportunities for more Filipino women TO LOVE THEMSELVES PAMPERING AND STAYING HEALTHY AND EARNING FROM IT.
It's as easy as becoming a member and help promoting the products WOW is actually distributing and selling. Ms. Cory Qurino believes in the natural ingredients and uses them to create products for consumption like the WOW Maqui with Power Berries (SRP P1,800/32oz bottle) juice with Maqui, Raspberry, Pomegranate and Blueberry juices creating a powerful antioxidant cocktail rich in Vitamins B1,B2,B3, C and E and minerals (Calcium, Potassium and Phosphorus), essential fatty acids (Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9). From drinks, food supplements, lotions, soaps, shampoo, body butter, WOW also sells crystals that Ms. Cory Quirino personally uses daily. I found most interesting was the NutriRX TAWA-TAWA capsules (P450/30capsperbottle) to help increase platelet count (those also suffering from Dengue) and NutriRX Balbas Pusa (P450/30capsperbottle) addressing kidney and bladder problems. From looking at the product catalog, I found all products really helpful and necessary.
Whitening and Slimming products of WOW seemed common to me although I was sold to the unique preparation of the drinks. I found most pleasing to my preference was the Lemongrass body mist, body scrub , body butter and showergel not realizing that it is actually anti-bacterial and anti-fungal helping tone the muscles and tissues with such calming effect.
Ms. Cory Quirino was really charismatic we all just listened in awe watching her explain all the products. Her passion about improving the beauty and wellness industry using the indigenous materials/ingredients found in the Philippines is not just commendable but truly inspirational. She walks the talk to wellness using her own products and use them to educate Filipino women today how to use them as an opportunity to gain wealth. We were all sold to the great intentions that actually made her to lead the Ms. World Philippines Pageant this year. We have all become members of the WOW team. Health is indeed wealth and we are all proud to share the good news to all of you!
