Event: Bravehearts relives the Tour of Hope in Photo Exhibit!

12 Filipinos die everyday with cervical cancer and the awareness that it is curable and preventable heeds the cause. Save lives with Bravehearts!
From the recent "Tour of Hope 360: Fighting Cervical Cancer in Full Circle" of Glaxo-Smith Kline, Bravehearts advocates commenced a biking tour from Makati to Baguio and helped raise P750,000 to the cause with P1M sponsorship and pledges. The said tour is now in a photo exhibit in Greenbelt 3 from October 1-6, 2010. Photos captured their heroism to help raise awareness by sharing the message that it is preventable by vaccination and that early detection of cervical cancer will definitely save Filipino women from the disease's death sentence.
Attended by media and the participants of the Tour of Hope 360, the photo exhibit launch featured celebrities who shared experiences in the said biking tour like Abegail Arenas, Mymy Davao, David Charlton of David's Salon and other celebrities and Bravehearts advocates. Captured by Master Lensman Jun De Leon, Miguel De Leon, Ramon Ty and Nico Lozada, the photo exhibit will show the fruits of the organization's efforts to fight cervical cancer with Glaxo-Smith Kline and other sponsors.
Dr. Cecilia Llave, President of Cervical Cancer Prevention Program (CECAP) shares that to stop the human papilloma virus (HPV) – the cause of cervical cancer – from infecting women, an effective and relevant cervical cancer vaccine is necessary. There is a cervical cancer vaccine which provides significant protection for women against the two most common cancer-causing Human Papillomavirus (HPV) types (16 and 18), and also against 12 other cancer-causing HPV types which include HPV strain 45 – a strain which prevalently causes a more severe form of cervical cancer among Filipinas. Designed to last for both young and mature women, females from 10 years old onwards can be vaccinated with this cervical cancer vaccine.
So do not fret on decisions because cervical cancer shows no signs unless prevented.Support the Cervical Cancer Support Group through Bravehearts! Better yet, Be vaccinated and ask your doctor now.
