Event: Red Kimono celebrates 5th year with My Maki Masterpiece Challenge!

5 years. 10 contestants. 5 winners. A scrumptious Maki meal experience!
Red Kimono in partnership with Destiny Cable, Speedo, Nike Park, Mossimo and Curves celebrated with media and chose 5 Maki Masterpiece Challenge winners to highlight their famous sushi collection.
Hosted by Issa Litton, 6 prominent personalities judged to choose 5 winning makis, actress, model, entrepreneur and jewellery designer, Tweetie De Leon Gonzales, Chairman of the Philippine Marketing Association, Ricky De Vera, from Philippine Wine Merchants and Ralph Wines and Spirits, and also a popular DJ on 99.5RT Rob Joseph, Cultural activist and artist/performer Carlos Celdran, Dean of Enderun College - Dr. Edgardo Rodriguez and Head of ABS-CBN Publishing, Ernie Lopez.
The 5 winning makis earned a place in Red Kimono's Maki Masterpiece menu and received P5,000 cash and P5,000 Gift Certificates. Among the five was this Filipino-breakfast-inspired maki made of salted red eggs, tinapa (smoked fish) and riped red mangoes to complement the salty taste!
The crowd favorite earning the most number of votes was this dessert maki made by two girls - maki made of coconut condensed milk, chocolates and ripe sweet mangoes which Ms. Tweety De Leon Gonzales said was "comfort food" to make you reminisce childhood and Filipino cultural dining experience.
This vegetarian maki which earned the votes of the judges was also my personal favorite - crunchy, sweet and delectable.
Participants, media and on-lookers had a taste of each maki masterpiece and succumbed to more of Red Kimono's dishes served in buffet after the contest.
