Event: Linggo de Lingua Europa 3 breaks barriers with Trek around Europa

Learning language is exploring another culture.
The European Union Presidency of Belgium in cooperation with Ateneo De Manila University commenced with a culminating activity dubbed, "Trek Around Europa", a celebration marathon activity for bloggers last Friday July 30 at the Manny V. Pangilinan Building, Loyola Schools, Ateneo De Manila University in commemoration of Lingo de Lingua Europa 3.
The said trek was a competition of speed and shortest time completing the tasks given to explore European countries stationed at each table all around the campus with particular culture-specific games and activities to unlock the next task like what they do in Amazing Race.
Each task at each European country tables gave quizzes and activities that made each player of the team learn not just the culture but basic information distinct of each particular participating country.
Foreign Ambassadors and culture attache from participating European countries shared their vision reaching out to Filipinos and offering foreign language trainings for free. Among them was Emelie Flambeaux, French attache from the Embassy of France who also fervent and passionate teaching French in Ateneo and several government foreign language programs.
Student leaders of different European languages organizations by participating schools, St.Paul University, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, Miriam College, Instituto Cervantes Manila, UP Diliman and LPU were acknowledged and given activities to learn how to better appreciate European languages.
It was a day filled with fun activities and short talks with the distinguished guests from the participating European Embassies.
I would like to thank the delegation, the sponsors and Team Yehey for the meaningful learning experience that enflamed my passion to want to learn French and other European languages.
